UBS Transparency in Financial Reporting Setting the Standard
(in my view!) Have a look at this. It is the new Quarterly Reporting page of UBS. Impressive No?
They allways led the way in this sort of thing, particulalry in responding to the Credit Crises at its height and explaining what had gone worng! See the quarterly reports of 2008 and 2007 Q4s particularly! If anyone wants to wite a PhD on what what really happened, in my view it could not be done without reference to this content and this is quarterly reporting, right?
But this time UBS has taken the proverbial "biscuit"! in terms of transparency and reporting, the provision of 45 spreadsheets of time series alongside the Q109 report explaining the historical breakdown of risk quantities and exposures.
We at asymptotix have been advising on the key distinction between the 'internal' and the 'external' data series contributing to a factor model of group level risk economic capital, well, here from UBS you have the benchmark model of the internal data set. Fantastic!
Are the key legislative pillars such as Basel II & III, UCITS IV and Solvency II forcing you to re-examine how you identify, measure and manage risk and capital?
Is the goal of your website to sell services or products, educate, or collect data?

Transparency report to the shareholders of UBS
This page here, the "Transparency report to the shareholders of UBS" is a very important piece of work in its own right.
Equally the little chronology of events and reports and the associated documentary references are pieces of work I find myself constantly referring to, when giving advice to clients (who are not UBS).
I recommend these documents to you wholeheartedly if you have an interest in the crisis, banking and the economy.
Basel 2 Pillar 3 the global benchmark
This is the way to do it, check out how UBS split the report out by the UK subsidiaries also but the mainline revision to the June 2010 figures is in my view the global benchmark - click the link!
