Gavin Quinn
Gavin has many years experience as a Business Development Manager, Partner Manager and Senior Business Analyst – unusually the domain expertise was gained by actually working in the Capital Markets trading and sales environment for such firms as Merrill Lynch, CSFB, Nat West Capital Markets, Daiwa and as Head of Euro Securities Trading and Sales at Bank of America and was also the former chairman of the International Money Markets Trading Association.
In recent years Gavin has been concentrating upon the immediate and downstream impact of regulatory and advisory change upon the financial services industry – not just the need for compliance but how the eco system adjusts and evolves to the stimulus of regulatory change i.e. Mifid saw a growth spurt in the amount of market data captured and stored by the banks which had to be aligned to new KYC, KYP and reporting rules but also spurred the growth of many new execution venues which further fuelled the development of the algo /quant low latency high frequency arbitrage market and new revenue streams for the market data vendors.
Gavin has been concentrating on liquidity risk management and stress testing along with watching how the G20 agreement will be rolled out are high priorities at the moment but with particular emphasis on the data quality issues and the lack of agreed industry standards that will make the gathering, storing and reporting far more challenging for the industry.
