"I caught up with British software champion Autonomy's founder and CEO, Mike Lynch today, for a podcast to discuss the firm's big news that hit the wires this morning.
Over a bit of a crackly phone line I asked him to explain why the launch of IDOL SPE is such a big deal for the company, and what he believes the technology will be able to do for structured data (i.e. databases). Remember that to date, Autonomy has been focusing its IDOL information search and management technology at the world of unstructured data -- Word, email, PowerPoint files and the like.
I ended the interview by asking whether he is seeing the green shoots of recovery as far as the sentiment of customers is concerned, to which Lynch responded with a great farming analogy. "
